DIAL Lüdenscheid

Lüdenscheid, the “city of light,” is home to not only the renowned light manufacturer but also another company dedicated completely to the meaningful approach to light and building technology. DIAL considers itself an independent service center. Its services range from software solutions and measurements in accredited labs to the transmission of knowledge and innovation through seminars and workshops. The company recently moved into a new building on Lüdenscheider Bahnshofsallee, where the city of Lüdenscheid founded an educational, research, and service hub as part of its Regionale 2013 project “415m über NN DENKFABRIK,” which aims to strengthen south Westphalia as a seat of technology. The new construction for DIAL offers almost 3,000 sq.m. for some one hundred employees. The uses the building must support are as broad as the company’s spectrum of tasks. Event rooms and a catering area serve the company’s seminars; light is measured in the “black lab,” while light is simulated in the equally complex “white lab.” In addition, the building houses study labs for building system technology as well as offices for software development and administration. Further growth in the company was calculated into the new building; there is room on the grounds for another building of the same size.

Architecture and technology have been intelligently integrated in the new building with an A+ efficiency rating
