Built in Frankfurt am Main in 1905, Villa Sander was named after its architect, Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig Sander. For many years, the listed building served as a guest house for Deutsche Bank. Today, Satellite Office GmbH uses the historic property as a location for flexible working environments. Spanning around 2,000 square metres of usable space, the villa offers private offices, team offices, coworking spaces, conference rooms and day offices. The range of spaces is complemented by dedicated retreat areas, including a fireplace lounge. The interior concept is based on Satellite founder Anita Gödiker’s “pureSilent” spatial philosophy, which focuses on reducing noise and avoiding sensory overload. The overall concept for Villa Sander received the ICONIC AWARD in 2025 and the German Design Award in 2026.

Infrastructure in a Listed Historic Building
The structural requirements of a protected historic building call for solutions that can be integrated without significant intervention in the existing fabric or visual appearance of the spaces. While the historic structure and façade of Villa Sander were preserved, the technical infrastructure had to meet today’s requirements for digital workplaces. This includes connection solutions that can be integrated modularly and flexibly into furniture, spaces and workflows, creating tidy, ergonomically designed workstations – the foundation for productive work and modern clean-desk concepts.
The interplay between the historic building fabric and contemporary interior design defines the clean, clearly structured workspaces in the offices and conference rooms.
The Modular Built-In System Circle80 Family
For equipping the workstations, the modular Circle80 Family built-in system from EVOline was used. The hardware combines a power socket, USB charger and cable outlet in one compact housing. Installation is carried out through a standardised 80 mm diameter desk cut-out and can be easily mounted from above without the need for cumbersome under-desk installation.
Wireless Charging Function
As a functional extension of the Circle80 Family, the DisQ rotating cover with integrated induction charger was used. Compatible devices such as smartphones and smartwatches can be charged wirelessly directly on the desk surface. For compatible devices with a magnetic ring, a magnetic holder ensures that they remain precisely positioned on the rotating cover throughout the charging process. The induction charging function works with the cover both closed and open. This means that all core Circle80 functions, including the conventional power socket, USB charger and cable outlet, remain fully accessible and usable while charging wirelessly.

Connecting Hardware and Peripherals
Thanks to the decentralised installation of the Circle80 units, users in the offices and meeting rooms have access to a structured power and data supply directly at their workstation. The slider for secure cable retention not only keeps unnecessary cables out of sight, but also allows them to be quickly and easily accessed whenever needed. In this way, the technology supports the clean, minimalist appearance of the interior and consistently fulfils the requirements of tidy, clutter-free clean-desk workspaces.
