DGUV V3 is an accident prevention regulation of the German Social Accident Insurance.
It is a regulation concerning the inspection of electrical equipment. In accordance with the Industrial Safety Regulation, the operator must prepare a risk assessment and is obliged to have electrical equipment inspected regularly. The correct installation and the individual components are checked during this process. An individual, customer-specific risk assessment for the installed overall system creates clarity between the inspector and the operator. Responsibilities and framework conditions for operation and inspection are defined.
As a rule, electrical circuits are protected by a 16-ampere circuit breaker. The exact number depends on the specific application.
Electrical devices require different amounts of power during operation and at start-up. For this reason, the number of sockets depends on the required power and the intended use. The total power consumption of all devices must not exceed 16A (3600W).
EVOline offers various options for high-performance USB chargers with power ranges from 10.5 to 240.0 W. These charger solutions can either be permanently integrated or flexibly connected to the power strip, depending on the version.
Fixed integration
The proven EVOline USB modules with power ranges from 10.5 W to 18.0 W are used as permanently integrated solutions. For fixed integration, EVOline provides USB-C modules or dual USB modules (AC or CC) as charging units.
Interchangeable modules
Another option is the USB-C interchangeable chargers with an output of 27 W or 65 W. If required, these can easily be replaced with a new interchangeable charger of the same power rating.
Fully variable USB solutions
In addition, EVOline offers various modules such as USB-C or USB-A. These are available as interchangeable modules and can provide data or power depending on the cable used. A subsequent power upgrade is possible with a higher-capacity plug-in power supply.
Advantages of fully variable USB solutions
- The fully variable USB solutions from EVOline offer a high degree of flexibility and are future-proof and upgradeable.
- EVOline interchangeable modules can be replaced with data modules or upcoming USB 4.0 modules.
- With EVOline USB keystones, the power can be flexibly increased using high-performance plug-in power supplies.
- In the event of a fault, individual interchangeable components can be replaced by the end customer.
EVOline sockets are customizable
Our power strips can be freely configured by dealers. Various finishes and modules are available for this purpose. Standard configurations can be created independently using pCon.
For individual or special requirements, our support team is happy to assist you with implementation.
Interchangeable modules
With interchangeable EVOline modules, your power strips always stay up to date with the latest technology. In case of a change of use or damage, the interchangeable modules can be removed by the end user and replaced with a new module. Cable grommets, stainless steel buttons, data connections (e.g., HDMI or Cat.6), or high-performance USB-C chargers are available for this purpose. The Circle80 Family is also designed so that the closure modules can be exchanged if requirements change.
Our products can be equipped with international sockets
To ensure safe and standard-compliant use in different countries, EVOline power strips are tested not only according to TÜV and VDE certifications but also to UL and CB standards, thus meeting the applicable international safety requirements. A detailed list of certificates can be found here.
A floor outlet is a fixed installation
Yes, all EVOline products with the corresponding protective contact plug can be connected to a floor outlet.
Since floor outlets are permanently installed in the floor, they are considered a fixed installation. Connecting sockets in this case is generally permitted, provided that the applicable safety standards are observed.
Our USB power supplies are SELV power supplies (Safety Extra Low Voltage) without a PE connection. To comply with EMC regulations (electromagnetic requirements) as well as safety regulations, a Y-capacitor is integrated between the primary and secondary circuits. This only filters very high frequencies, which are harmless to humans.
If a low voltage is measured at a USB port or on the housing with a multimeter, this is normal due to the design. The measured value depends on the measurement method, device settings, and the internal resistance of the measuring device, and does not indicate any safety defect in the USB power supply.
Difficulty plugging in connectors with enhanced touch protection
If a plug is difficult to insert, this is generally not a defect but a sign of high-quality touch protection. The integrated touch protection is a key safety feature of EVOline socket solutions. It prevents uncontrolled insertion and minimizes the risk of electric shock. In some cases, this may lead to higher insertion forces, especially if the plug is not inserted evenly and the pins do not overcome the touch protection simultaneously. This behavior is intentional and safety-related. It underscores the high standards that Schulte – Elektrotechnik applies to the safety and quality of its products.
The touch protection is part of the safety standards established by national associations. These standards ensure that electrical installations and devices are safe and reliable.
Important! In such cases, the plug must not be inserted with excessive force. Doing so can cause permanent damage to the mechanism. If the touch protection becomes blocked, the insertion process should be stopped and the plug reinserted. If the touch protection becomes blocked repeatedly, it is likely that permanent damage has already occurred.
